There is a Swing forum for Swing related questions. JTabbedPane is a Swing component....

Why would using a GridBagLayout be any different when you use it in a JTabbedPane? Create a panel, set the layout, add the components to the panel and then add the panel to the tabbed pane.

i allready did that.. the problem is that the other layout method doesnt really suits the requirement of my GUI layout..

i need to use some layout where i can arrage my GUI components accordingly.. actually its something like a customer data entry layout.. and i guess gridbaglayout method is the best around.. i just cant simply put that method inside a JTabbedPane..

btw i'll look at the swing category..

Of course you can. Did you not understand my answer. You and add and component to a tabbed pane. Create a panel the way you want and add it to the tabbed pane.
