Java 2D Graphics
Aug 5, 2004 5:26 AM

Hi guys,

I am looking for an interface or anything which allows me to do the following graphic.

In a few words, there is a 2D plane square (for example 1 m width and 1 m height) represented by a regular mesh 50x50 nodes. Each node has got a value. In order to make a scale, I think I can split the interval defined by the lowest value and the highest of all of the node values into 20 ones (for example) with the same lenght, assigning a color for each interval of values. What I would like to do is to create continuous contour plots on the square, like a picture, without the 50x50 points, like a good picture.

I've never done that, does somebody have any clue about the Java tools I should use? Or I have to use Adobe Photoshop?

I have got the Java 2D Graphics (Knudsen), but I am a bit lost and don't know where to really focus.

Very new to Java but it sounds like you should have a look at the swing library.

Restate your problem please? Not really following what you're trying to do.

Here you can see what I am talking about. It is not a square and there is motion. At the moment I only want to achieve the picture, the movement would be the next target. Does anybody know if I can do this with Java? I think I can, but no clue what kind of tools I shoud have a look.
