Pull a filename out of an image
Aug 4, 2004 4:26 PM

say I use the toolkit to load an image from a local file. how can I retrieve the filename from the image afterwords?

toolkit, image and ImageObserver don't seem to have any useful meathods to do this.

An image isn't a file, so I'd be surprised if there were a way to do this.

You could track it yourself if it's important.

I guess you are correct, but anyway a file contning image data (say in jpg) does not contain a filename. Otherwise tou would need to recreate the jpeg every time you renamed a file.

ok, I figured that from th estart, I figured I would ask to see if I could make my life easyer, but I already started working around not being able to.

basically I am making a program that needs to tell a network program what local image to load based on which local image it has loaded, and long after it has been loaded I might add. I got it though.
