Anyone used CloudScape?

I just saw somethig about IBM makig CloudScape open source. I was wondering if anyone has any experience using it. Is it any good?

Yes, actually I have. It is good. In fact, considering it's 100% Java it's pretty darn good, supporting XAs, and a very logical filesystem-based index and table layout.

I worked with it years ago in an `embedded' environment. Last year I wrote another piece of messaging software and was VERY interested again in Cloudscape and called for MONTHS to IBM trying to get a price. I NEVER got a call back. I don't think IBM had any idea how to market this, and no salesman even knew what it was much less that IBM even owned it.

Anyway, I'm happy it's been opened up a little. It's a great database and I love that it's 100% Java and I'll be relooking at this for projects in the future.

Looks good. Was the code really worth $85 million though!?
