I took note of that thread, but I didn't notice Gafter was also leaving. Java 1.5 is still in beta.

Makes me wonder what Google is up to. I'm thinking they might be trying to expand horizontally and go up against Yahoo, AOL & MSN.

No, I didn't mention either of these guys. More smart folks leaving, judging from the links.

More sad days for Sun. Brain drains like this are never, ever a good sign. People are voting with their feet. These are just the kind of folks who would be flocking to a company if they thought there was good work and a future.

Maybe that's why they're all going over to Google. There's got to be more than just searching going on over there now.
