Hello folks,

Any idea how to write/create an applet that downloads files from across the network?

Appreciate your helpful replies.

Thank you,

That's kind of missing the point of an applet, which is that they operate in a restricted environment (and can't, say, write files to your hard drive).

But there are ways around it -- you could futz with security settings, etc. But I wouldn't recommend it.

I agree; unless you have another requirement for using an applet, you're better off creating a Java application to do that. It avoids the security problems.
