how to debug java procedures
Jul 22, 2004 12:02 PM

hi people, more questions from me again, thanks for the patience

does anyone know if there is any way to debug a program written in java. I have already added debug quotes into my program using Printwriter. But I am looking for something built into java which gives a detailed output on where the compilation is going on etc.

For example.

Suppose I have two classes a and b, and I inherit some methods from b to a, and then I run a, I was some sort of a debugging tool, which will tell me exactly which methods are being compiled, and then when the class b is invoked, when its methods are invoked. Etc. I hope u get my point.

When there is an error running javac, the exact line info is given, I am hoping to see a complete list of these lines, regardless if there is an error or not. Please help!

Thanks
