Memory Issues
Jul 8, 2004 7:01 AM

Hi,

I am developing applications in 9i AS on Solaris with Oracle 9i back end. We are using only Servlet/JSP/Java bean and EJB is not used.

I have seen that when the applications are deployed, it is eating the database server memory. The database connections we closed in the Java application is not closing the session at back end, the connection becomes inactive in the back end and will be remaining in the database memory for some time.

As more users are logging in and logging out, the number of session in the back end increases and it came to a stage where the database server memory is fully occupied by the connections.

Please help if any body knows the solution.

Thanking You,

Karan

You are probably not closing the connection in all cases, or you have forgot to close prepared statements and resultsets prior to closing the connection.

Thanking You,
