Not to forget the topic. Unless you provide a descriptive topic you're most likely to get people who want to help you post clear questions than people who will do your homework for you and write your entire program so you can get an A while sitting in the pub (yes, those people exist).

Nobody here has been particularly rude to you.

Exactly, I'm always this rude, there was nothing particular about it :)

So Kayaman,

Whether i write like a 14yr old or not is also none of your concern.

Yes it is, I don't want to read text that seems like it was written by a monkey.

if you don't want to read such text, why not just not read such threads? You don't help anyone here - anyway! Isn't this forum meant to help people?

You don't help anyone here -

You just demonstrated your ignorance. Kayaman is rude, abrasive, and helpful. Making judgments about someone after reading one thread is premature.

anyway! Isn't this forum meant to help people?

No. The purpose of this forum is "to discuss general topics related to the Java programming language." Note there is nothing mentioned about helping anyone. The fact that that's what generally goes on here does not mean you're entitled to help.

Oh, and before you say "I wasn't talking to you and if you don't like what I said just don't reply," this is a public unmoderated forum. Anyone will contribute whatever they feel like. Get used to it.

i'm currently working on a project which is about
biometric security / attendance system. i wish to noe
what is the method that can use to send a e-mail to
the client to let them noe that u have already sign in

In all candor, this post smells like trolling to me, but for the sake of argument I'll treat it as legitimate.

Observation the first. If you have no idea whatsoever about where to start how will you have any idea at all whether the recommendations given to you are of any value? Answer, you won't. Based entirely on the quoted text above from your original post. In my opinion you lack the fundamental frame of reference to begin a project of this nature.

In answer to your stated question, the email api information already recommended to you should provide anything you might possibly need to send an email. That said, you will of course have to spend some time and effort learning how to use it. I would recommend starting with a discrete test case that simply creates a single basic email with known parameters and sends an email to your own email address. That way you can incrementally add bits and pieces to the construct until you have what you need.

It is a very common mistake to conceive of a very grand project that has tons of wonderful functionality in it right from the very beginning. However, without the experience working with the necessary pieces of the API to achieve the way points along the path, the entire project is doomed to failure from the outset.

From the tenor of your original post, one must conclude that you are either A) a rank amature (which is not a bad thing, it just takes time and effort to correct) or B) you have the communication skills of a rock which can be corrected, but again it takes time and effort.

In the case of (A) I would recommend that you start with the basics and let it grow. You can keep your project in mind and try to angle you refforts in that direction, but you have a great deal to learn before you'll be ready to tackle such a project. In the case of (B) I would recommend that you get tutoring in written and verbal communication in the business world. Such courses are readily available in most places.

If you are a troll and the purpose of this thread was to foment discord and build strife, then I hope that scorpions infest your jockstrap.

ROFL

X'D

Diet Coke all over monitor, first as a result of the curse, second at the idea of the alleged Miss Cynthia wearing a jockstrap.

All good points, goalie. Of course, I would think that, since they largely overlap with the points I tried to make, but you stated them much more clearly than I.

See, what you need to understand is that since you're asking for help, the burden is on you to make it easy for people to help you, and not to piss off your potential helpers.

Nobody here has been particularly rude to you. If you want help, you need to write clearly--nobody is going to want to help you if you can't be bothered to make it easy to understand your question.

Speaking of your question, that's the other thing you'll need to do if you want help here--ask the right question. You asked something very vague about sending email, so somebody gave you a perfectly appropriate response: Use the JavaMail API. They even included a link, I believe.

Then you say "How can I write this biometric whatever program?" That's not reasonable question. First of all, nobody here knows your requirements, or what you're really asking. Additionally, these forums are not a good venue for "Hey, let's collaborate from start to finish on my project." They're better suited to smaller, more specific questions. If you have no clue how to even begin this project (which is what it sounds like) then you need to seek one-on-one help from your instructor or a classmate or a tutor.

Maybe you might want to check what other so called "potential helper" reply.
I appreciate those who post me some link, however there are some people who are not helpful at all. I will defintely write more clearly in future. No worries.

"How can I write this biometric whatever program?"
I clearly rem i did not write this sentences. You can refer up the page, maybe some word might give you the intention to create this sentence on behalf of me.

I think you misunderstand me. Yes, I'm currently on a project BUT I got no intention to ask people from forum from start to finish on my project. If I really do have the intention, I'll pay people to program and finish the project for me. I won't go through the hassle to ask people from the forum for help. However, my information was very brief as you comment. I admit because I'm not to sure of my scope and ask question in the forum is quite difficult. However i will make some changes to that.

Well, for your information, I do have a teacher-in-charge for the project.
I just trying to seek more information and help from people who are good in java to give me advise.
I think this topic is on the wrong track.
However i doubt there's a need to continue this topic as I'm well aware of my current project scope but will continue to post if I do have any doubts.
"Pls do not be mistaken. I do not have the intention to seek help from people to finish my project"

WTF

that latest post from 'cynthia lee' starts of coming from the p.o.v. of someone reading
cynthia's post, and the second part seems to be coming from cynthia herself replying
to the above bit.

i think you really messed up, whoever you are, and were logged in as the wrong account,
or somethling like that ... truly weird.

cynthia_lee, when you next reply to a post, instead of copying and pasting the text, could you please use the "Reply" button, and the "[quote original]". At the moment, it is quite hard to work out when the person you are quoting ends, and when you start.

Thank you.
