MDI: setting focus on an JInternalFrame at application startup?
Jun 15, 2004 2:13 PM

Hi,

Does anybody know if there is anyway to have a JInternalFrame selected when an application is launched?

It seems that eventhough I'm calling he JInternalFrame's setSelected(true) method in the applet's init(), it has no effect.

The only way I have managed to do it is by overwriting the application's paint method to check if the desktopPane contains a selectedFrame; If it dosen't, I then call the setSelected(true) of the InternalFrame. But anywhere before paint, if I try call setSelected it seems to have no effect. But there has to be a more elegant way of doing it...

Thanks,
