XP processes
Jun 15, 2004 9:25 AM

Hi all!

I am having a problem with an application ported to Windows XP from Windows 2000. This application launches a process (a perl program) and waits until it ends to parse the results of the process. In W2000 it worked fine, but in XP the process does absolutely nothing. It exists, (because I can see "perl.exe" in the Task administrator), but it never consumes any CPU or memory. Of course, it never ends, and, therefore, the Java application remains waiting forever.

Has anything changed from W2000 to Xp that makes Process handling different?

Any ideas on how to learn to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Luis.
