Ignore jverd, he is just jealous of our intellect.

Don't flatter yourself. I'm jealous of OP's intellect.

I meant our combined intellect. Together we might have a full complement of fries in our happy meal.

that they are useless classes.

Lots of times I don't use interfaces either, sometimes I write in 360 Assembly code or K&R C as well.

Did you read my earlier post? Did you understand it? Have you ever looked at M$ DCOM and all those classes with names like IUnknown? Those C++ classes are actually interfaces, thats what the I* stands for.

Thats is, this discussion is over

This is a unmoderated public forum, once you put your ball in play, you can't just pull it out. The forum will continue without you.

If you weren't so obviously wrong, I'd think you were daFei by another name, but even he knows better than this.

Yeah, I find it hard to believe someone could be that genuinely asinine. I may be wrong - my Troll-o-Meter™ may be out of calibration, but it's tough to disregard that strong of a signal...

I think your calibration is just fine. I was trying to troll the troll.

I spent some time (i.e., 5 seconds or so) trying to figure out whether this ******* was a troll or not, and then came to the conclusion that it doesn't matter. It's easier to just take the posts at face value and address them as if they were real. If it is a troll, it doesn't matter--he can't "win" because I don't care. Just part of the cost of doing business.

Well, you may have heard of Godwins law http://info.astrian.net/jargon/terms/g/Godwin_s_Law.html and Formosa's law http://www.catb.org/~esr/jargon/html/F/Formosas-Law.html, I say we introduce a Zulfi's law, whereby someone argues that a well though out language/construct is a complete load of **** because they don't understand it, and have a much better suggestion that they thought up this morning over brekkie.

Oh, I had no doubt about that - don't let me spoil your fun. I was just putting up a standard disclaimer... :o)

PLUS (joy, joy) I can implement multiple interfaces.
Do THAT with an abstract class - I double-dog dare
you.

Who needs to extend anything. If you want many classes to do the same thing, just cut and paste code from one class to another. No need for inheritance at all. It is just OO cr*p

In my book, daFei still holds the title of King of Morons. strikecpp is putting up a good campaign though.

There have been a few threads lately saying that feature X is cr@p.

Why don't these guys go back to writing Cobol or Fortran or C if these features are troubling them so?

I notice some pattern in these posts:
Gutan: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=31&thread=521500&tstart=0&trange=15
jugamon: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=54&thread=521311&tstart=0&trange=15

and our OP here....
